Pulse Generator for Mech Pump Testing
Purpose: To create means to test the MID’s compatibility to various Pulser type used in different applications. It must give the mean to test extremes that are not expected in the real world
Hardware: MID and an LCD display.
Dipswitch 1 sets the rate of the Pulse and Dipswitch 2 defines the fixed number of Pulses. If DSW2 is ALL OFF or ALL ON then it run freely at the period defined by Dipswitch1
| DSW1 | DSW2 |
00 | 5 pulses/sec | Free running |
01 | 10 pulses/sec | 400 000 |
02 | 20 pulses/sec | 600 000 |
03 | 40 pulses/sec | 800 000 |
04 | 80 pulses/sec | 1 000 000 |
05 | 160 pulses/sec | 3 000 000 |
06 | 320 pulses/sec | 5 000 000 |
07 | 640 pulses/sec | 7 000 000 |
08 | 1280 pulses/sec | 15 000 000 |
It would also be good to have a GPIO to be used as an inhibit and the pulses will only start counting once it is pull hi or low.
Action : Set the Dipswitches and hit the reset and once the Start Switch is used the Pulses start. The Switch could also be used to pause the pulsing just like a Nozzle can stop pouring and continue again.
The Display gives the Settings selected (i.e. the Mode of operation) and the Shows the counting of the Pulses
